About Coach Penny

I was born and raised in the Tillsonburg area, where I still reside. I began skating at the age of six and had the opportunity to advance my development with the National Pairs School in Kitchener, Ontario. Essentially, I grew up on the ice!

My career highlights include being a two-time Canadian National Pairs Champion, a five-time Canadian National team member, and representing Canada in international competitions. I started my coaching career in Norwich, Ontario, while completing my Level 3 National Coaching Accreditation. I then continued to coach competitively in Kitchener, London, and Strathroy before returning to Tillsonburg 18 years ago.

As a figure skating coach, I found it highly rewarding to develop Canadian National Medalists, international skaters, and Provincial Champions. My passion for skating extended to training all types of skaters, including my own children. My daughter competed at a Canadian National Championship, and my son currently plays in the Ontario Hockey League. With 28 years of experience, I have extensive knowledge of edge work, which can help hockey players become faster and more efficient.
